May 11, 2010: In Haggerty v. Fink, Mr. Veley represented Christine Fink, the owner of an apartment building. The tenants in this case (Christopher Haggerty and Trista Gingerich) had deposited their rent with the Court, alleging numerous health and safety issues, but Mr. Veley proved that the tenants were acting in bad faith and had only deposited their rent with the Court because they had been served with a pet violation notice. Mr. Veley procured an entry which (1) released all of the deposited rent to Ms. Fink, (2) awarded Ms. Fink $250.00 in damages for her expenses in investigating the tenants' claims, and (3) awarded Ms. Fink $400.00 in attorney fees, together with court costs.
April 9, 2010: In Clifton v. Ward, Mr. Veley represented Jeremy Clifton, who had paid Michael Ward for parts and services in building a race car. Mr. Veley secured a judgment for Mr. Clifton in the amount of $24,664.75.
