Tri-Point

|
The Tri-Point was a multi colored pencil. Next to the clip is the imprint "Nichols Products Company Morristown, N.J." Buttons on the cap determined which lead was advanced. The original design was patented by Edgar B. Nichols on October 8, 1929 as number 1,730,679. View here. An example identical to these bearing that patent number recently surfaced. However, these more closely resemble an improved version for which Nichols applied for a patent on August 19, 1944, which was issued October 12, 1948 as number 2,451,111. View here. |
