This one is an easy maker to overlook. The gold-filled example on the right has the Pen-N-Pencil Co. logo stamped on the nose section, and it's so small it can only be read under magnification. 

The second example, although it has a substantial imprint on the barrel, is one that would easily slip into the junk box.

I haven't been able to track down whatever patent was being applied for.

Here's an example I was outbid on in an online auction, but the seller was kind enough to give me permission to use the picture.  Built into the barrel is a postal scale!
